T. PARRIS: SOUL STAR
We turned one of the photos we shot in 2013 to a cover for T. Parris latest project ‘Soul Star: The Concert Edition’. Left is the flyer, right is front and back. T. Parris handed the CDs out at a show yesterday, but they will also be available online in a couple of days.
One of the tracks featured on the CD is Homicide Harlem, which I first listened to in March 2013. We were sitting in a building in Harlem and he asked me what I think of this song, he played me an unfinished version, no hook, no studio recordings, he recorded it with his phone at that point. The song inspired me to go out to the Wagner Projects in Harlem and shoot my version of Homicide Harlem.
This is a story of a young man who was abandoned by his parents as a child. Neglected by his peers when he didn’t fit in and so many times he had questioned the LOVE of those round him … with all these uncomfortable feelings his only option was to DREAM …
And tonight I wanna share that with y’all – I wanna share my DREAM to be one of the best hip hop artist to ever hit the stage … and with that being said I wanna talk y’all on a trip through my reality … SOULSTAR
